The Lagos State Government added 19,525 square metres of office space to its public infrastructure portfolio as part of efforts to reduce dependence on rented facilities and improve working conditions for civil servants. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, Adekunle Olayinka, disclosed this during the 2026 ministerial press briefing marking the third year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's second term in office.
Olayinka said the additional office capacity was delivered through the completion of major government buildings, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex and the Revenue House within the Alausa Secretariat precinct in Ikeja. The projects formed part of a broader strategy to strengthen public institutions, improve service delivery and preserve the value of government-owned infrastructure assets.
Among the projects currently under construction are the new Massey Children's Hospital and its multi-level car park, a 280-bed General Hospital in Ojo and a Psychiatric Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Ketu-Ejinrin, Epe. Olayinka also listed ongoing projects at state-owned tertiary institutions, including new lecture theatres, laboratories, office complexes and student accommodation.
